"Will my insurance cover chiropractic?"
Most insurance carriers cover Chiropractic. Our staff is well trained on calling carriers and verifying coverage. Overall, Chiropractic is an extremely safe and cost effective means to making people healthy!

"Why should I have my children checked?"

Because everyone, even children, experience stress to the spine and body. Like falling off of a bike, getting upset, studying, repetitive poor posture positions, genetic/heredity factors...the list goes on and on. A subluxation in the spine detected early has a much better prognosis (outcome).

"Why do the same spots in my back keep hurting?"

The term vertebral subluxation explains it all. A subluxation is caused by an improperly functioning joint that decreases nerve flow. These subluxations take time and successive treatments to heal. Lifestyle, occupation, stress and improper exercise/posture can cause "high stress" zones in specific areas of the spine.

"Do I have to come for treatment the rest of my life?"

While relief derived from Chiropractic adjustments is often noticed in the first few treatments, it is recommended to continue with preventative maintainance, or spinal hygiene. Many people have inherent problems with their framework, while others suffer permanent loss of proper joint function due to a traumatic event or years of neglect to their body. Everyone experiences the effects of stress, gravity and trauma every day to their body. Just like your car, your body needs an occasional tune-up as well!

"Why do I have to come back once I start feeling better?"

Many people experience "instant" relief after receiving a Chiropractic adjustment. It is important to return for successive treatments so that total correction of the spinal lesion can occur. Symptoms such as headache, arm/leg pain usually are the last to arrive and the first to leave during an injury.

"Why can't I twist or pop my own neck?"

Often times, people will try to twist or "crack" their own joint. While I cannot say that this will necessarily will harm an individual, I can definitely state that Chiropractors have several hundred hours of education toward specific manipulation of the spine and other joints of the body.

"What's the 'popping' sound I hear when I get an adjustment?"

The "pop" noise created during a Chiropractic adjustment is caused by gasses being released from joint capsules. When a specific force, or thrust, is applied to a joint, a pressure change occurs within the joint capsule and gas is liberated. This usually accounts for the immediate relief often felt by Chiropractic patients.

"Will an adjustment hurt me?"

A Chiropractic adjustment involves a precise thrust of force into a joint that is not functioning correctly. Most patients experience an immediate sense of relief. At times, the involved joint may be tender, creating a very mild discomfort during adjusting, but the end result is a healthy, functioning, pain-free joint.
